When the walls begin to close in
And the world
It threatens to fall on me
I often escape to my secret nook
In the forest of desires
A shady spot
Under a sprawling willow tree
There I open the ragged book
They call life
To all the pages that have been
And I read
And re-read
Those many chapters
That bear the fragrance of your skin
The words
That you laid down
With the ink of your eyes
And your footprints
That mark trails on my history
The cherished bookmarks
In my dog eared tome
Witness to my watery smiles
Bearers of sunshine
In dappled drops of love
They light up my soothing sanctuary
