INCENSE

If you were a whiff of fragrance
I would smell you
In an inhale of alluring trust
Your skin would feel like a crazy mix
Of hot chocolate
And the sea at dusk

Your thoughts would rise up
From the depths
Heady odors of earthy musk
That the drops of first rain
Boldly unlock
From the lap of the sun-baked dust

Sometimes a jasmine breath would drown me
Ever so softly
And I would know it's your tender care
Tangy swirls of winsome joys dancing
In smiles
And light steps of crispy mountain air

Some moods would touch me with heavy hands
Sizzling edges
Smelling of the stillness before a storm
At times I would inhale your pristine tears
A tender essence
Of dewdrops, and the quietly flaming dawn

Its then, that I would send you
On a gentle breeze
Healing scents of the falling rain
To unravel your enchanting mysteries
And fragrant cocktails
Till I'm drunk on your fumes, once again
